At Trimfold, we place high demands on the environmental qualities of the paper we use. After all, choosing the right kind of paper is important not only for the visual and technical quality of an envelope, but also as to how it impacts on the environment. All our manilla envelopes are manufactured from 100% recycled paper and have a minimum of 100% post-consumer waste. All our white envelopes are made from paper produced from sustainable forests.

Chain of Custody definition

Chain of Custody is the unbroken path which products take from the forest to the consumer, including all stages of manufacturing, transformation, and distribution.

The Chain of Custody system comes in to place, to try to ensure that these products do not get mixed with products from an uncontrolled (non-certified) source. Thus trying to eliminate and control the mixing of these products if not in total, where possible.

Trimfold strives to purchase, wherever possible, paper products from fully certified suppliers, in the aim to promote responsible forest management worldwide, resulting in long-term social and economic benefits to human communities.

Trimfold will put the correct procedures in place for the development and training of the staff in dealing with FSC & PEFC products, and to maintain a high level of competence in implementing the Chain of Custody Management System, as outlined in FSC-STD-40-004 (Version 2.0) and Chain of Custody of forest based products, Annex 4, in turn, allowing us to provide a credible and reliable system for our customers in relation to the source of our materials.

Energy
We review an on-going basis the energy used in the manufacturing of our products and aim to reduce the energy required per unit. We also review and reduce the energy used in non-manufacturing areas of our business.

We use products which give the required performance but with the lowest environmental impact in manufacturing and use.

Inks
All of our inks are environmentally friendly

Packaging
The Packaging used protects our products from abuse and contamination whilst maintaining low environmental impact. Trimfold Envelopes Ltd are a member of Repak

Waste
We endeavour to reduce waste within the manufacturing processes and to cut down the waste generated by administrative functions. Any waste that is produced is recycled and reused if possible with other wastes being environmentally and safely disposed of.

This policy is communicated to all employees and is reviewed annually by Management for its continuing suitability.
